You know what happened. You can picture the people and hear what they said. But getting it onto the page is another matter. We help you choose where to begin, build the scenes and carry the reader through—without losing the way you tell it.
We start by listening for the story.
You may be able to tell the story across a kitchen table but lose it when you sit down to write. You may have pages you like and no idea how they fit together. In our first conversation, we ask who the story is for, what you want them to understand and which moments matter most to you.
Bring the material in the form you have it: notebooks, typed pages, photographs or a conversation. We discuss what needs to be gathered, written or developed, then agree on the work and costs.
We give the material a shape readers can follow.
We look for a useful opening, the events that carry the story forward and the details that help readers picture what happened. We suggest a structure, identify gaps and ask the questions that bring a person or a scene into focus.
If you want us to write, we develop the agreed sections from your material and conversations. If you want to write alongside us, we work through the draft together. You see how the story is developing and can tell us where it needs to change.
You stay involved as the pages take shape.
You review the writing for the details, tone and meaning. We discuss passages that need more explanation, check uncertainties with you and revise within the scope we have agreed. The aim is a connected manuscript that tells the story you intended, in a voice you recognise.
When the writing is ready, we explain what editing, proofreading, cover design or formatting it still needs. You can decide which of those services you want us to handle.
Let’s talk about the story you want to tell.
Tell us what you have—a memory, an idea or pages already written—and what you would love the finished story to become. We’ll discuss where to begin and the support that fits.
